Back-of-beyond adventures at the Top End

This state – all 1.3 million square kilometres – is as rustic and awe-inspiring as you imagine. And yet, she has so many surprises in store. There’s so much to discover in the Top End: from the Katherine region where Indigenous cultural experiences await, to the majestic scenery and waterholes of Alice Springs, the incredible waterfalls and lookouts of Kakadu, and the opportunity to connect with nature, culture and a spot of serious fishing in the Gove region. This state is the serial adventurer’s nirvana.

Throw in dining under the stars with an ochre-red backdrop, superlative scenic flights, crocodile cruises, camel rides, night walks and waterhole swims – the list of to-dos is endless. All this in the least populous state, with an archaeological history spanning 40,000 years.
