For most bookings, you can check in online - it's easy, fast and free.
There are some exceptions to online check-in. If any of the following apply to your booking, you’ll need to check in at the airport:
- You’re travelling with an infant
- You're travelling to or from the US
- You made your booking through Jetstar Group bookings
- You need specific assistance (eg wheelchairs, extra seats, visual or hearing impairments or service dogs)
- Your booking has an outstanding balance
To check in online, simply go to Manage booking with your booking reference number (which you’ll find on your itinerary) - plus your passport details if you’re flying international.
There are different options for getting your boarding pass.
Online check-in for domestic flights
For domestic flights in Australia and New Zealand, you can check in online from 28 days before your flight, to up to one hour before your flight.
For domestic flights on Jetstar Japan (GK) and Jetstar Pacific (BL) you can check in online from two days before your flight, to up to one hour before your flight.
If you don’t have checked baggage, you can check in online, get your boarding pass and go straight to the boarding gate.
If you do have checked baggage, please drop your bags at the Jetstar bag drop before check-in closes.
If you’re flying domestic from an international terminal, you can check in online but you’ll need to visit the check-in counter to present identification and collect your boarding pass before check-in closes. Please check your itinerary to see which airport and terminal your flight will depart from. You'll need to be at the airport earlier if your flight departs from an international terminal.
Remember, even if you've checked in online you must drop your bags and be at the boarding gate on time. If you’re not at the boarding gate on time, you won’t be able to board your flight and you may lose your fare in full.

Online check-in for international flights
You can check in online for international flights, however in most cases you’ll still need to visit the check-in counter at the airport to present identification, and collect your boarding pass before check-in closes.

You can check in online for international flights between two days and up to two hours before your flight.
Even if you've checked in online you must still drop your bags and be at the boarding gate on time. If you don't check in or get to the boarding gate when it closes, you won’t be able to board your flight and you may lose your fare in full.
