The setting is understated and allows for a relaxed yet complete dining experience. Pricing is moderate and the restaurant is open 7 days a week. Service is casual and an excellent range of wine and spirits are available.

Entertainment

Shopping

The hotel is surrounded by some of Melbourne’s best shopping including Myer, David Jones, Melbourne Central, QV, GPO and Bourke Street Mall.
All are within a 2-5 min walk from the hotel.
Direct Factory Outlets (DFO) is a short tram ride away.

Federation Square

Touted as "Melbourne’s civic and cultural hub for the 21st century," Federation Square is a conglomerate of attractions centered on wacky architecture and a large open piazza-type area cobbled with misshapen paving.
Here you’ll find the National Gallery of Victoria: The Ian Potter Centre-Australian Art, the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI), and a one-stop Visitor Centre.
The huge three-level National Gallery of Victoria building contains the largest collection of Australian art in the country, including many works by Sidney Nolan, Russell Drysdale, and Tom Roberts, as well as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders.
Numerous cafes and coffee shops operate throughout the precinct.
Lots of events happen in the square’s 450-seat amphitheatre, including theatrical performances and free concerts. Other events take place on the plaza and along the banks of the Yarra River.

Address: Flinders St. to the Yarra River (running north-south to the left, facing Flinders St. Railway Station)

Melbourne Museum

This museum opposite the 19th-century Royal Exhibition Buildings is Australia’s largest and one of the most interesting. Some of the highlights include a real blue whale skeleton (you can’t miss it), an indoor rainforest, and a truly brilliant insect and butterfly collection with lots of real-life exhibits, including cockroaches, ant colonies, and huge spiders. Check out the brightly coloured Children’s Museum, which will bring hours of enjoyment to the little ones. A big thumbs up! Allow 2 hours.

Address: 11 Nicholson St, Carlton

Victorian Arts Centre

Topped by a spire reaching 162 metres above St Kilda Road, the Victorian Arts Centre contains four theatres each individually designed by Oscar-winning Australian designer John Truscott.
The complex is built with the theatres reaching six levels below the street the largest is the State Theatre used for major opera, ballet and musical productions, seating over 2000. Attend a viewing of the latest show while you explore the home of Australia’s premier performing-art companies and the theatres they work in.
Most stores are open seven days, and many stay open late on Fridays to 9pm

Queen Victoria Market

The Queen Victoria Market is more than just Melbourne’s shopping Mecca. This 19th century market is a historic landmark, a tourist attraction and an institution for all Melburnians. The ‘Queen Vic’ was opened in 1878, but the meat market building operated from 1866.
Fresh is the flavour of the market. More than fresh seafood and fresh fruits and vegetables, the market takes a fresh approach. Find clothing, baggage, toys, jewellery, new-age products and souvenirs.
The complex of enclosed food halls, open sheds, shops and stores illustrate the variety of Melbourne culture through its produce whilst maintaining a vibrant sense of how a 19th century market functioned.
