JETSTAR HOLIDAYS BOOKING CONDITIONS

Please read these Booking Conditions carefully as they apply to each traveller included in bookings for Jetstar holiday packages. Jetstar is not itself a tour, event, car rental or accommodation provider. It acts only as an agent for those service providers. You should obtain and read the applicable service provider's terms and conditions as they may limit or exclude liability in respect of death, personal injury, delay and loss or damage to baggage.

All air travel is subject to the airline's Conditions of Carriage and all other services are subject to the normal conditions of the service provider.


1. Bookings Non-refundable

Except as otherwise stated, your booking is non-refundable.


2. Forms of Payment

Full payment must be made by credit card at the time of booking and at the time you make any changes. Please check the payment page on our website or ask Jetstar Telephone Reservations for the credit cards that are currently accepted. Fees and charges will be payable in the currency of your booking. Currency exchange fees or charges may apply.


3. Changes in Itineraries

If any part of your booking is changed, for example, if a hotelier overbooks hotel accommodation, or there is a schedule change for your flight, or one of the components of the package you have booked becomes unavailable, we will use reasonable endeavours to notify you on the email address you provide to us with your booking. If we make a significant change to your scheduled departure flight and cannot reschedule your booking to meet your needs, and this means you are unable to use your holiday package, you may request a refund. If the cause of the change was beyond our control, we will deduct any applicable cancellation charges from your refund.


4. Bookings

Bookings may be made by telephone through Jetstar Telephone Reservations, or online via jetstar.com. Charges will apply for bookings made by telephone.

The maximum number of travellers in a single booking is 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children, depending on the package selected. Hotels may require photo identification at check in and proof that the guest checking in is over 18 years old.

A maximum of one room per booking can be accepted.

Hotels may have advance booking requirements. These vary between 4-30 days depending on your choice of hotel and dates.

All airfares and other package components are subject to availability. The price of your holiday is subject to change until full payment is received and Jetstar has confirmed your booking in writing.


5. Cancellations by you

Please choose your package carefully. You will incur costs for any cancellation.

If you have booked a JetSaver fare, the Jetstar flight component of your package is non-refundable and any cancellation will result in you forfeiting the entire amount paid for your flight. If you have booked a JetFlex or StarClass fare, the Jetstar flight component of your package may be refundable for a fee (see jetstar.com/faretypes.html for fees and conditions) and any cancellation may result in you forfeiting the entire amount paid for your flight.

For non-airfare components, a cancellation fee of $75 per booking applies, unless the cost of your cancelled non-airfare components is less than $75, in which case only the supplier cancellation charge will apply. In addition, service providers may impose cancellation fees or charges which may amount to all of the cost paid for the applicable component (eg your accommodation). These amounts will be at your expense.

Cancellations must be made through Jetstar Telephone Reservations and cannot be made online.


6. Changes by you

Please choose your package carefully. You will incur costs for all date, time and passenger name changes.

A change fee of $50 per person per change applies in addition to any fees or charges payable in accordance with the applicable fare rules for your flights, and in addition to any fees or charges imposed by other service providers such as hotels or tour operators. You must also pay any difference between the package you originally booked and the package that is available on the date you make the change.

At the time of making a change, you must re-book for available dates / times according to the conditions and validity of the package components you have purchased.

No changes to the arrival date for accommodation are possible within 4 days prior to your scheduled date of departure on your holiday package.

Changes to your flights can be made only as permitted by the fare rules of the flights you have purchased in your package.

Changes to the point of origin and/or destination of your package can only be made if all of your flight sectors are booked as JetFlex fares.

Changes must be made through Jetstar Telephone Reservations and cannot be made online.


7. Special Assistance and Requests

If you require special assistance, for example you need to travel with a guide dog, hearing or mobility dog or you require a wheelchair, please ensure that you inform Jetstar Telephone Reservations of your needs before you make a booking.

The online booking facility may allow you to enter a special request. Jetstar cannot guarantee your request will be met or passed on to the service provider.


8. Product Descriptions

Descriptions featured in holiday package offers are based on information provided by hotels and other service providers. Any facilities shown as included are subject to change by the service provider. Jetstar does not guarantee any particular standard or class of accommodation or other service provided by a third party.

Maps are shown for general information and may not necessarily reflect actual routings, locations or services provided. Photographs may show places in the geographic areas, and these are not necessarily included in the holiday package price. Hotel room photographs are representative only, actual rooms occupied may vary in decor and inclusions from those shown. Images may be supplied courtesy of third parties such as tourist bureaus, hotels and tour operators.


9. Travel Insurance

It is recommended that you consider purchasing a travel insurance policy of your choice.


10. Health and Immigration

You are responsible for all visa, passport, immigration, quarantine, customs, health and other requirements of the countries you visit or transit through. For international travel, each person must carry a valid passport (with at least six months validity) at all times. Jetstar will not accept responsibility for your failure to ensure that you have correct travel information and all required documents and approvals.


11. Baggage limits and check-requirements

Please check your travel documents for applicable baggage allowances and check-in times. Jetstar enforces strict baggage limits and flight closure times.


12. Contact Information

It is essential to ensure that you or the person making your booking advises Jetstar of an email address and telephone number where you can be reached if necessary before and after your departure.


13. Not Included in Price of Holiday

The cost of anything not specifically included in the holiday package is at your expense.


14. Booking Arrangements

Each traveller booked is deemed to have accepted these Booking Conditions. If you make a booking on behalf of another person you must bring these Booking Conditions to that person's attention.

No variation to the Booking Conditions will be effective unless made in writing by Jetstar.

All communications from us will be sent to the email address listed in your booking.


15. Limit of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Jetstar excludes all liability for any loss or damage whatsoever (including but not limited to physical and psychological injury, and loss or damage to property of whatever nature) that may arise in any way in connection with the offer of goods or services by Jetstar or any third party service providers, or in connection with the supply of such goods or services.

If the Trade Practices Act 1974 (Cth) or any similar law implies a condition or warranty that cannot be excluded, the liability of Jetstar for a breach of the condition or warranty will be limited as determined by Jetstar in its absolute discretion to:

(a) in the case of goods any one or more of the following:

  • the replacement of the goods or the supply of equivalent goods; or
  • the payment of the cost of replacing the goods or of acquiring equivalent goods; and
  • (b) in the case of services:

  • the supplying of the services again; or
  • the payment of the cost of having the services supplied again.


  • 16. Events Beyond our Control

    Unless otherwise required by law, Jetstar does not accept any liability whatsoever for any injury, damage, loss, delay, additional expenses or inconvenience caused directly or indirectly by any events which are beyond its control including, but not limited to, war, civil disturbance, fire, floods, acts of God, acts of Government or of any other authorities, accident or failure of machinery or equipment, or industrial action.


    17. Destination Passenger Enquiries

    Jetstar makes no representation as to the safety, conditions or other issues that may exist at any destination. You should obtain travel advice before booking and travel. For international destinations, check the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade's Travel Advisories on www.smarttraveller.gov.au.


    18. Governing Law

    These Booking Conditions are governed in all respects by the laws of Australia and any action arising under them or in any way connected with the holiday may be brought only in a court in Australia, subject to any applicable law which is expressly inconsistent with this.


    19. Reserved Car Rental

    If you have reserved car rental as part of your holiday package booking, your booking will be made directly with the car rental company. You will be required to submit a valid credit card as security at the time of vehicle collection. Miscellaneous charges (e.g. fuel or baby seat) must be arranged directly by you with the car rental company Arrangements for optional excess reduction can be made at the car rental counter at the time of rental. Coupons or promotions cannot be used in conjunction with your car rental booked as part of a package. The car rental companies's standard age, credit and driver requirements apply.

    Restrictions and Surcharge

    The rental minimum age is 21. The car rental price shown is for drivers aged 25 and over. For drivers aged 21-24 a daily surcharge applies (Approximately: Budget - $23.00 per day, Avis - $27.50 per day).
