Terms & Conditions for the Gold Coast Lounge
1. Entry to the Gold Coast Lounge
1.1. If you are a Jetstar economy passenger, to enter the Gold Coast Lounge you must present, at the Lounge reception desk, a boarding pass for a qualifying flight departing from Gold Coast Airport (see 1.4 to 1.7 below) and:
1.1.1. that boarding pass must show pre-purchased Gold Coast Lounge entry (see 1.8 and 1.9 below); or
1.1.2. you must present another form of valid Gold Coast Lounge entry pass; or
1.1.3. you must purchase entry at the reception desk outside the Lounge.
1.1.4. you must present a valid Gold Coast Lounge Membership Card (see section 5 below).
1.2. If you are a Business Max Bundle passenger travelling on a qualifying flight you may enter the Gold Coast Lounge free of charge on presentation of your Business Max Bundle boarding pass. If you are travelling economy on an outbound flight from the Gold Coast Airport, you will need to purchase access or present a valid Gold Coast Lounge Membership Card if you wish to enter the Gold Coast Lounge.
1.3. Children six and under may enter the Gold Coast Lounge for free provided they are travelling on a qualifying flight and are accompanied by a supervising adult who is entitled to enter the Gold Coast Lounge.
1.4. Entry is only available:
1.4.1. For the Gold Coast Lounge, from three hours prior to your scheduled flight departure for international passengers, including passengers travelling on a domestic flight departing from the international terminal.
1.4.2. For the Gold Coast Lounge, two hours prior to your scheduled flight departure for other domestic passengers.
1.5. Entry is only available to those passengers departing Gold Coast Airport and being:
1.5.1. Passengers starting their journey on a Jetstar domestic or Jetstar international flight departing from Gold Coast Airport.
1.5.2. Passengers connecting from a domestic flight to a Jetstar domestic flight departing from Gold Coast Airport.
1.5.3. Passengers connecting from a domestic flight to a Jetstar international flight departing from Gold Coast Airport.
1.6. Entry is not available for passengers connecting from an international flight to another international flight or a domestic flight departing from the international terminal (e.g. passengers transiting on an international service) at Gold Coast Airport.
1.7. Entry is not permitted for passengers arriving at Gold Coast Airport as the destination on their Jetstar itinerary.
1.8. Economy passengers may purchase entry to the Gold Coast Lounge either by:
1.8.1. Pre-purchasing at jetstar.com when making your booking or through the Jetstar's telephone reservations centre on 131 538 (from Australia) or +61 3 9092 6500 (all other countries) up to the day prior to the scheduled Jetstar flight departure; or
1.8.2. Purchasing Gold Coast Lounge entry at the Airport; or
1.8.3. Purchasing Gold Coast Lounge membership (see section 5 below).
1.9. Platinum Qantas Frequent Flyer members and Chairman's Lounge members may present a current membership card as a valid form of Gold Coast Lounge entry pass for themselves and two guests travelling on a qualifying flight. Bronze, Silver and Gold Qantas Frequent Flyer members and Qantas Club members travelling in economy must purchase entry.
1.10. Pre-purchased entry is linked to your flight booking and is subject to the same rules as the Fare Rules applicable to your booking (see part 3 below).
1.11. Entry purchase does not permit you to bring a guest into the Gold Coast Lounge. Gold Coast Lounge membership does not permit you to bring a guest into the Gold Coast Lounge.
1.12. Airline industry staff travelling on industry fares may enter the Gold Coast Lounge provided they meet the entry requirements under clause 1.
1.13. Jetstar expressly reserves the right to vary or waive the amount of the pay as you go entry fee to the Gold Coast Lounge from time to time, including offering promotional or discounted rates. Jetstar will not be liable for any loss or damage suffered by any person relating to any such variation.
2. At the Gold Coast Lounge and getting ready for your flight
2.1. Passengers under 18 must be supervised by a parent, guardian or responsible adult at all times and must at no time approach the bar or otherwise have access to alcoholic beverages.
2.2. It is the passenger’s responsibility to leave the Gold Coast Lounge with enough time to board their relevant Jetstar service. Jetstar recommends:
2.2.1. International passengers, including passengers travelling on a domestic flight departing from the international terminal, leave the Gold Coast Lounge approximately 45 minutes before boarding commences and arrive at the departure gate 40 minutes prior to departure.
2.2.2. All other domestic passengers leave the Gold Coast Lounge approximately 10 minutes before boarding commences and arrive at the departure gate 25 minutes prior to departure.
2.3. Jetstar has the discretion to refuse entry, or to require a passenger to leave the Gold Coast Lounge at any time for any reason deemed appropriate by Jetstar. Some of the conditions under which you may be refused entry or asked to leave include if you are:
2.3.1. under 18 and unaccompanied by a parent, guardian or responsible adult
2.3.3. behaving in a manner that may cause discomfort to other passengers or staff;
2.3.4. not wearing appropriate clothing including footwear and a shirt;
2.4. Passengers who are refused entry or requested to leave will not be entitled to a refund.
2.5. Jetstar may also refuse entry if the Gold Coast Lounge has reached capacity or if it is closed for operational or other reasons.
3.1. Passengers with Starter fares with a Max bundle that have pre-purchased Gold Coast Lounge entry, will be entitled to a refund if the fare for their qualifying flight is refunded, or the origin of their flight is changed.
3.2. Subject to clause 3.3 below, Starter, Starter with Plus Bundle or Business passengers who pre-purchase Gold Coast Lounge entry will not be entitled to a refund. However, if the flight booking to which it is linked is moved to a different date or time, the Gold Coast Lounge entry pass will be moved with it, provided the Gold Coast Lounge is open on the new departure date. If the lounge is not open on the new departure date you will be provided with a refund.
3.3. Passengers who have purchased entry to the Gold Coast Lounge but who are not able to enter due to capacity constraints, or the closure of the Gold Coast Lounge, will be provided a refund.
4. Limitation of liability, amendment and governing law
4.1. Except as required by law, Jetstar makes no representation or warranty as to the quality or availability of the Gold Coast Lounge or of goods or services in the Gold Coast Lounge. Jetstar may withdraw or substitute advertised goods or services at any time without prior notice.
4.2. Jetstar may amend these terms and conditions from time to time and the amended terms will come into force at the time they are posted on Jetstar.com.
4.3.These terms and conditions, and any subsequent amendments made in accordance with the terms, set out the entire agreement between Jetstar and the passenger in relation to the Gold Coast Lounge.
4.4.You use the Gold Coast Lounge entirely at your own risk. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Jetstar will not be liable for and you release Jetstar and the members of the Qantas Group from any liability for, loss or damage of any kind whatsoever (including but not limited to bodily injury or death, property damage, special loss, economic loss, loss of data, loss of revenue, loss of business opportunity and third party claims) suffered by you or any other person, including loss or damage suffered as a result of negligence, caused by, arising out of or in connection with:
4.4.1. your entry into or use of the Gold Coast Lounge; or
4.4.2. the act or omission of any person in or near the Gold Coast Lounge; or
4.4.3. the quality or availability of any goods or services in the Gold Coast Lounge; or
4.4.4. you or any person being unable to enter, or being refused entry to, the Gold Coast Lounge for any reason whatsoever; or;
4.4.5. you or any person being required to leave the Gold Coast Lounge for any reason whatsoever.
4.5. These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New South Wales.
4.6.Every effort has been made to ensure the information provided in relation to the Gold Coast Lounge is correct. However, to the extent permitted by law, Jetstar accepts no responsibility for any inaccuracy or misdescription.
5. Gold Coast Lounge Membership
5.1. Your membership of the Gold Coast Lounge will be governed by these Terms and Conditions in addition to the general Gold Coast Lounge Terms and Conditions in clauses 1 to 4 above, as they relate to the Gold Coast Lounge. It is your responsibility to read and understand them and to continue to remain aware of the conditions of membership. Your membership of the Gold Coast Lounge relates only to entry to the Gold Coast Lounge and does not entitle you to entry to any other lounge operated by Jetstar or of any other Qantas Group company.
5.2. These Terms and Conditions are effective as at the date of publication and may be amended from time to time.
5.3. Jetstar reserves the right at all times to vary the Gold Coast Lounge Terms and Conditions or Benefits offered at any time.
5.4. Jetstar will use reasonable endeavours to advise Members of any such changes, but will not be liable in any way for any failure to do so.
5.5. Members will be taken to have received notice of any changes to these Terms and Conditions if Jetstar notifies the Member of the change by any method including but not limited to by providing notice at an email address provided to Jetstar by the Member and/or by posting details of the changes on the Jetstar website jetstar.com.
5.6. Upon acceptance of enrolment in the Gold Coast Lounge, each Member will be assigned a membership number and issued with an emailed PDF Card. Information such as, surname, date of birth, Membership Number, mailing address and/or recent travel details will be used to verify the identity of Members and for security of membership information. It is the Member’s responsibility to ensure the Card is kept secure.
5.7. One membership may be held at any time, per eligible person.
5.8. Each Member shall be responsible for advising Jetstar by phoning the Jetstar call centre of any change of name or address. Documentation verifying a name change is required. The Member’s mailing address will be used to determine their eligibility for promotions and other offerings.
5.9. The Card and membership number are valid for use only by the Member and are not transferable in any circumstances. The Card is valid for use only during the period indicated on it.
5.10. Replacement PDF Cards may be requested by calling the Jetstar Call Centre.
5.11. Due to operational reasons, member access to the Gold Coast Lounge and associated lounges may, from time to time, be restricted.
5.12. Gold Coast Lounge Members are entitled to access the Gold Coast Lounge in the Gold Coast Airport, when the requirements to entry as specified in clause 1 – “Entry to the Gold Coast Lounge”, are met.
5.13. Jetstar recommends that you consult a taxation adviser to ensure that you understand possible taxation and Fringe Benefits Tax implications, if any, related to your membership of The Gold Coast Lounge.
6. Membership Types and Benefits
6.1. Individual membership is available to individuals who are 18 years of age and over and is not transferable. Membership options are for one year only, with an option to automatically renew each year.
6.2. If you opt to automatically renew your membership, Jetstar will retain and use your original payment details made in your initial registration for your renewal. Jetstar will inform you by email of the upcoming membership renewal and the upcoming debit of your credit card at least one month prior to the debit occurring. It is your responsibility to update your personal details, including email address, and Jetstar has no liability if you do not receive your pending debit reminder.
6.3. Whenever the Card is used in order to obtain or utilise Benefits, or Benefits are made available to the Member as a result of membership, whether these are provided by Jetstar or a Gold Coast Lounge supplier, the Member will be liable for any and all costs, charges, taxes, claims or liabilities of whatever nature and howsoever arising from or incurred in connection with obtaining or utilising the Benefits.
6.4. Some of the Benefits which are offered to the Member are provided by suppliers over which Jetstar has no control. Arrangements for the availability and utilisation of the Benefits so offered are made by Jetstar solely as agents for the suppliers providing such Benefits. The provision of the Benefits will be subject, in each case, to the terms and conditions of the suppliers providing such Benefits and any claims relating to the supply of Benefits should be made to the supplier.
6.5 Jetstar will not be liable for refusal of any supplier of the Gold Coast Lounge Benefits to accept or honour the Card nor will Jetstar be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever, whether in whole or part, of any Benefits.
6.6 In the event of loss, theft or unauthorised use of your Card, it is your responsibility to immediately advise the Jetstar Call Centre. Until loss, theft or unauthorised use of the Card is notified to Jetstar, the Member is liable for all use of the Card. Jetstar will not be liable for misuse of a lost or stolen Card or any unauthorised use of a Card.
7. Terminations of Memberships
7.1. A member may cancel membership at any time, however no refund, partial or otherwise, will be applicable. Suspensions are not permitted.
7.2. Membership will terminate automatically on the death of a Member with an effective date of the receipt of notification of the death of the Member. A partial pro rata refund will be applicable in such circumstances.
7.3. Jetstar may terminate a membership if, in the reasonable opinion of Jetstar, the Member has:
- Abused any facilities, services or arrangements accorded to the Member as a result of membership in the Gold Coast Lounge;
- Acted in any way which is likely to be detrimental to the interests of Jetstar or any Partner Airline;
- Supplied or attempt to supply misleading information, or make any misrepresentation to The Gold Coast Lounge or any Partner Airline.
7.4. Jetstar expressly reserves the right to terminate or alter (materially or otherwise) any Benefits, or any aspect of the operation, of the Gold Coast Lounge at any time, without notice.
7.5. The Gold Coast Lounge reserves the right at any time in its absolute discretion and without notice to revoke the membership of any Member of the Gold Coast Lounge and/or the right of any Member to use the Card or any Benefits. In the event the Card is cancelled, a proportionate refund will be made of the membership fee paid by the Member at Jetstar’s discretion. The Card must be returned immediately to the Gold Coast Lounge when so demanded by The Gold Coast Lounge.
7.6. Any breach of these Terms and Conditions whether intentional or otherwise may result in termination of membership, cancellation of Benefits, or both, at the sole discretion of Jetstar.
In these terms and conditions, unless the context requires otherwise:
’Jetstar’ means Jetstar Airways Pty Ltd;
’Qantas Group’ means Qantas Airways Ltd and its related bodies corporate (as defined by the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth)) and companies in which Qantas or Jetstar holds or controls (directly or indirectly) 25% or more of the issued capital;
’Card’ means The Gold Coast Lounge membership Card issued to the Member;
’Benefits’ means any of the facilities, discounts, services or arrangements offered or available to the Member from time to time as a result of membership in The Gold Coast Lounge;
’Member’ means the person whose name is printed on the Card and who is a member of The Gold Coast Lounge;
’Partner Airline’ means those airlines with which Jetstar has an agreement for use of the lounge or any other facilities, details of which are notified by Jetstar to Members from time to time;
’Partner Service’ means those suppliers with which Jetstar has an agreement for the supply of goods or services to Members as benefits.
