Jetstar Asia and Sakae Sushi celebrate more Singapore – Japan flying

Jetstar Asia CEO Bara Pasupathi is swapping his suit for an apron today as he takes up work experience at Sakae Sushi’s to celebrate Jetstar’s new direct services to Osaka. 

The new direct service will be operated by Jetstar’s long haul fleet based in Singapore and will be its fourth long haul destination behind Melbourne, Beijing and Auckland.

Mr Pasupathi said the new direct service would provide Singaporeans great low fares access to one of their favourite holiday destinations.

“Singaporeans love Japan and now we have another reason to visit more often with great affordable fares,” Mr Pasupathi said.  

“The new Jetstar service will also offer customers great access to the low fares domestic network Jetstar Japan has from Osaka with flights to Tokyo, Sapporo, Fukuoka and Okinawa,” he said.

CEO of Sakae Holdings, Mr Douglas Foo will return the favour by assisting with checking in passengers at the Jetstar counter as part of the job swap.

“Sakae Sushi is excited to be part of Jetstar Group’s celebrations for the start of yet another route that is very popular with travellers in the region," he said.

A connoisseur of Japanese cuisine, Mr Pasupathi will roll up his sleeves to serve sushi rolls ahead of the first flights.

“Food is such an important part of both Singaporean and Japanese culture and by saving on the airfare, now Singaporeans can spend more on experiencing the amazing delicacies in Japan,” Mr Pasupathi said.

Operated by Jetstar Airways, the new service will originate in Darwin and will be operated by an A321 aircraft with the Singapore to Osaka leg operated by an A330.

Jetstar Airways operates a fleet of 11 A330 aircraft with three based in Singapore. From 2013, the Jetstar Group will start to welcome the future of its long haul fleet, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
