You can also choose where you would like to sit (from available seats) and download and print your boarding pass, so you’re ready to go!

This page tells you all you need about web check-in, including a step by step guide to How Web Check-in works and FAQs.

(such as wheelchairs, extra seats, visual or hearing impairments, and unaccompanied minors).

  • Bookings with an outstanding balance owing.
  • All flights not disclosed above.

How Web Check-in works:

Step 1: Checking in online

  • Please enter your booking reference number (PNR), your surname and the airport you're departing from.
  • Select the passengers, baggage and flights you want to check-in. Able amount of baggage depends on your fare type.
    • If you have an international flight you'll need to enter the Advanced Passenger Information (APIS). Jetstar is required to provide this information to border authorities.
  • Make sure you declare any dangerous goods.
  • If you'd like to choose your seat, make a selection from the available seats displayed.
  • For Domestic: Download and print your boarding pass as a PDF document, alternatively you can save and email to print off at a later date. Or you can have an SMS Boarding Pass sent to your mobile phone.

For International: Print your web travel documents as these are required to obtain your boarding pass at the airport.

Before you check-in online:

  • Please read through all of the detailed information in your itinerary. For international travel, please have your passport information ready, as you will need to enter these details.
  • If your booking was made through a travel agent, please ask your agent to provide you with the 'Jetstar PNR'. (Your Booking Reference number, which is six letters and numbers).
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader
is required to view and print Boarding Passes

Step 2: At the airport

Domestic Flights:

Some domestic flights depart from international terminals. Check-in must be completed earlier
and only via a check-in counter at the airport for affected flights.

For International/Intra Asian flights:

  • All passengers on international flights must present their web travel documents, along with any other relevant travel documents, to a check-in agent at the airport. After this you will receive your official boarding pass.
  • We recommend you arrive at the airport no later than 90 minutes before your flight's scheduled departure. If there's a dedicated web check-in counter, go directly there. Otherwise, just go to one of Jetstar's regular check-in counters. If you're travelling with bags, you can drop your bags here as well.
  • Finally, make sure you arrive at your boarding gate no later than 40 minutes before departure when travelling on Jetstar Airways (JQ) and 15 minutes before departure when travelling on Jestar Asia (3K) or Valuair (VF).

FAQ:

What is the Advanced Passenger Information System (APIS)?

The APIS maximises security of travel by providing customs with information about passengers prior to their arrival in a country, such as passport information and address at your destination. Only the relevant information required by each country will be provided to their customs and immigration authorities.

It is mandatory for Jetstar to provide this information to the border authorities before travel.

What if I fail to provide Advanced Passenger Information when I make my booking or web check-in?

If you have not provided the API at the time of booking, you must provide these details when you check-in online or at the airport.

If you fail to provide the API information at the time of web check-in, you will not be able to complete the check-in online. However, you will be able to provide API to check-in agent at the airport. Passengers who do not supply API will not be permitted to travel.

Do I need a passport and visas?

All passengers need a valid passport for international travel, regardless of the destination. Some countries require at least six months validity remaining on a passport you should check prior to your departure with the embassies of all the countries you are planning to visit, as you may be refused entry if you do not comply.

You may also need a visa to travel to a particular country, you need to contact the embassy of the country you are travelling. A list of the embassies can be viewed on the website of Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Can I check-in for my return flight?

Yes. You can use web check-in for your return flight, if it is within 7 days from the scheduled departure time of your outbound flight.

What if I have checked-in online but I can't print my boarding pass or travel document?

If you are unable to print the boarding pass or the travel document after you've checked-in, go to a Web Check-in counter for assistance when you arrive at the airport. You will need Adobe Acrobat to view and print your boarding pass or travel document. You can download this software for free from Adobe acrobat reader.

If I've booked my flight through a Travel Agent, can I still use web check-in at Jetstar.com?

If your booking is made through a travel agent, please ask your agent to provide you with the "Jetstar PNR / Booking reference" to use the Web Check-in at Jetstar.com.

If you need to view your booking and make any changes such as update your email address, you will need to contact your travel agent.
