If you are travelling overseas, it is your responsibility to make sure you have all the travel and identification documents necessary for your particular journey. As well as your passport, some countries might require your overseas contact details (including your accommodation arrangements) and proof of onward travel, while others might take your fingerprints and a photograph before allowing you to enter.
The main point to be aware of is that every destination is different, so you’ll need to contact the embassy or consulate of your travel destination to find out exactly what travel documents you’ll need to have with you. Do this well before the date of your departure, to avoid any surprises and to allow enough time to arrange a visa if you need one.
Jetstar won’t be able to assist if you arrive at the airport without the necessary travel and identification documents.
Destination - Passenger enquiries
If you’re travelling overseas, we recommend that you enquire about the general conditions of your destination and also whether there are any significant local issues which could affect you, before your travel date. We can’t accurately report on the safety of your destination, or other conditions that may be important for you to be aware of.
Travel advice is available from various sources, including local governments, local consular offices and the website of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade www.smartraveller.gov.au, the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade www.mfat.govt.nz and the United States Department of State travel.state.gov
