Fares

Customers with existing Jetstar bookings will be changed to an equivalent new Jetstar fare.

Booking changes

Why is my booking being changed to a new fare?

To keep fares low we need to keep our systems and processes simplified. Having 2 sets of fares in our system makes things complicated and increases costs, so we will be updating everyone’s bookings with the new fares. Don’t worry, this will not negatively affect the benefits or fare rules of any bookings existing as at 17 May 2011.

When will my booking be changed?

Bookings will be gradually changed from 17 May onwards. Only bookings that are due to travel on or after 21 May will be changed. Any bookings that have already travelled prior to 21 May will not be changed. If you have a booking with a flight that has travelled before 21 May and one that is due to travel after 21 May, only the flight for travel after 21 May will be changed.

How will I know that my booking has been changed?

We will email a new itinerary to the email address in your booking to let you know of the change.

Do I need to do anything when I get my new itinerary?

No, you do not need to do anything or call us to re-confirm anything. Of course if you’d like, you can re-print your new itinerary.

If you have already printed your previous itinerary you can still use this to check in for your flight if you are unable to re-print your new itinerary.

Will my booking reference change?

No, your booking reference will stay the same.

Can I also view my new booking online?

Yes you can login to My Booking by going to the Manage Booking tab at the top of this page.

Can I still select my seats and pre-purchase things like meals for international?

Yes, go to the Manage Booking tab at the top of this page. Fees may apply. If you have already pre-purchased in flight items (meals, etc) these will be transferred to your new booking.

What if I booked through a Travel Agent? Will my booking still get changed?

Yes, all bookings made through a travel agent will be changed and your travel agent will be notified of the change.

What if I booked using my Qantas Frequent Flyer points? Will my booking still get changed?

Yes, all Jetstar Any Seat Award bookings made by redeeming points or by using Points Plus Pay will be updated with the new fares and you will receive an updated itinerary.

Will there be any additional charge for me?

No, there will not be any additional charges for these changes.

What if the new fares don’t offer the same as my old fare, do I still get what I paid for?

Yes, we will change you to a fare that gives you what you originally purchased with your initial fare. The only difference you will notice will be what the fare is called and how certain things are displayed on your itinerary. More details are in the table below.

What will my existing booking be changed to?
