Haikou’s Meilan Airport is 25km southeast of the city centre. An airport shuttle runs every half-hour between the airport and the city centre. Haikou’s city centre is easy to walk around, there is also a decent bus system and thousands of taxis. Cycling around Haikou is a great way to take in the beaches and rural scenery at the pace they deserve.
