Hanoi has an extensive public bus system with clean, comfortable vehicles and cheap fares; the Xe Buyt Hanoi (Hanoi bus map) is available in bookstores. You can also travel by taxis or xe om (motorbike taxis), but avoid the overpriced cyclos (bicycle rickshaws) in the Old Quarter.
