Scuba diving equipment can be included as part of your checked baggage, as long as it is packed properly. An oversized item handling fee applies to any piece of equipment longer than one metre, see below for details.
Packing your diving equipment
- Compressed air/gas tanks must be empty with the regulator tap open
- Knives must be carried in checked baggage
- Spear guns must be unloaded. You’ll need to pack spears separately and protect with material such as polystyrene.
Scuba gear is heavy! Make sure you have enough checked baggage allowance – to add more go to Manage booking.
Remember: no single item bag or item can weigh more than 32kg.Not all fares include checked baggage
Checked baggage is not included with Economy Starter fares. For other fares, check how much baggage allowance is included.

If you haven't added baggage and you arrive at the airport with checked baggage, charges will apply.
You'll be charged a fee for up to 15kg of baggage per passenger, and after that for every additional kilo at the per kilo rate. If you have added checked baggage to your booking but arrive with more than your allowance you’ll be charged for excess baggage. Excess baggage is charged per kilo. We can’t guarantee that we’ll be able to add excess baggage to your flight.
