Jetstar Asia (3K) to cease operations from 31 July 2025

Last updated: 13/06/2025 08:34am
13 June 2025: Update for our customers Jetstar Asia’s flights will continue to operate until 31 July with a progressively reduced schedule, to help minimise the impact of the airline’s upcoming closure on our customers’ travel plans. Our teams have been working hard to minimise any impact to travel plans, and we have now reached out to all customers impacted by this news to provide alternative flight options or a full refund. Advice for our customers Customers with bookings after the closure on 31 July have been notified their flight has been cancelled and offered a full refund. Customers booked to travel in the next seven weeks ahead of closure who have been impacted by schedule changes have been notified and offered an alternative flight where possible (including with other airlines) or a full refund. A small number of customers have been impacted by a systems issue with our refund form. This error has now been fixed and we will be reaching out to impacted customers to let them know their refund is being processed and that we sincerely apologise for any confusion and inconvenience. If you are travelling before 31 July and you have not heard from us, there are no changes to your scheduled flight, and you do not need to action anything. Please proceed to the airport as normal. With news of Jetstar Asia’s upcoming closure, we may be experiencing longer than normal wait times on our phone and Live Chat and sincerely appreciate our customers understanding. For any customers who would prefer to get a full refund, they can login to Manage Booking to select this option immediately. Please be reminded that Jetstar staff will not reach out via DM to collect your personal information and take precaution when accepting any friend requests and message requests. 11 June 2025 Following an extensive and careful review of the Jetstar Asia (3K) airline, the very difficult decision has been made to progressively reduce the airlines’ schedule before permanently ceasing operations on 31 July 2025. The decision does not impact any Jetstar Airways (JQ) flights, including JQ international flights between Australia and Southeast Asia, or any Jetstar Japan (GK) flights.  Jetstar Asia’s (3K) business has been increasingly challenged in recent years by escalating supplier costs, airport fees and aviation charges as well as growing capacity and competition in the region. Despite our best efforts to offset these rising costs, they are expected to continue into the foreseeable future, putting unsustainable pressure on Jetstar Asia’s ability to offer low fares. This is incredibly difficult news for our Jetstar Asia team members and customers, and the Jetstar Group is committed to providing support during this time with a range of options in place for all those impacted. Information for customers with Jetstar Asia (3K) bookings: Jetstar Asia (3K) flights will continue to operate until 31 July 2025 with a progressively reduced schedule. For customers with bookings prior to 31 July 2025, there will be some changes to Jetstar Asia’s usual schedule, and we will reach out directly if there are any changes to your upcoming flight. If you are not contacted with any schedule changes, your original flight will operate as planned, and there is no action needed. Please proceed to the airport as normal. You can also check your flight status here in the lead up to your departure. Customers with bookings from 31 July 2025 onwards are eligible for a full refund to your original form of payment. We will contact you directly to discuss your options. You can also visit Manage Booking to secure your refund now. Flights remain on sale for Jetstar Asia (3K) flights operating until 31 July 2025.
