These Terms and Conditions form the basis of Club Jetstar New Zealand. They are intended to protect both Members and Jetstar. It is the Member’s responsibility to read and understand them.
These Terms and Conditions are effective as at the date specified above and may be amended by Jetstar by providing you 1 months’ notice. The current Terms and Conditions are those available at this website. At the time of joining Club Jetstar, Jetstar will email Members a link to access an electronic copy of the Terms and Conditions. Material changes will be notified to Members in accordance with clause 6. If you become a Member of Club Jetstar New Zealand you may not transfer that Membership to Club Jetstar membership available in another country, for example Club Jetstar Australia.
Every Member is bound by these Terms and Conditions.
In these Terms and Conditions unless the context otherwise requires:
‘Benefits’ means any of the facilities, discounts, services or arrangements offered or available to a Member as a result of membership to Club Jetstar
‘Club’ or ‘Club Jetstar’ means the paid membership program operated by Jetstar Airways in New Zealand;
’Jetstar’ means each of Jetstar Airways (JQ), Jetstar Asia Airways Pte Ltd (3K), Jetstar Pacific Airlines Joint Stock Aviation Company (BL), Jetstar Japan Co., Ltd (GK) and any other airline or travel company lawfully operating under the brand ‘Jetstar’ or a similar brand from time to time;
‘Jetstar Airways’ means Jetstar Airways Pty Limited ABN 33 069 720 243;
’Jetstar.com’ means the Jetstar website which is located at www.jetstar.com;
’Member’ means a person who is a member of Club Jetstar;
’Membership’ means membership of Club Jetstar;
‘My Account’ means the free My Account program operated by Jetstar Airways;
‘Qantas Group’ means Qantas Airways Limited (ABN 16 009 661 901), its related bodies corporate (as defined in the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth)) including Jetstar and companies in which Qantas Airways Limited or Jetstar holds or controls (directly or indirectly) 25% or more of the issued capital;
‘Site’ means the Members-only section of Jetstar.com accessible by the Member entering their email address and password;
’Terms and Conditions’ means these Terms and Conditions between Jetstar Airways and each Member, including all schedules and attachments.
Membership in the Jetstar Airways ‘Club Jetstar’ program is conditional on you ("Member") accepting the terms and conditions contained herein (the "Agreement"). By enrolling in Club Jetstar or using or continuing to use the benefits of Club Jetstar, the Member is deemed to have agreed to all such terms and conditions of the Agreement.
1 Eligibility and Enrolment
1.1 Membership of Club Jetstar is open only to individuals booking through Jetstar.com. It is not open for use by Travel Agents. Jetstar retains the right to cancel a membership if they reasonably believe it is being used by a Travel Agent, including but not limited to bookings where the Club Jetstar member does not travel on their booking.
1.2 Members may enrol in the Club through the manual enrolment page on Jetstar.com indicating their desire to join the Club or by enrolling in the Club while purchasing a ticket through the Jetstar.com website. All Members must be enrolled in My Account. If a Member is not enrolled in My Account when enrolling in the Club, the Member will automatically be enrolled in My Account. 1.3 Members are obligated to provide and maintain accurate and true personal information when applying for Club membership or using any Club benefits. Failure to do so may invalidate Membership in the Club and any subsequent fare purchase at Jetstar’s sole discretion. It is each Member’s responsibility to update personal information via the Site within the Member’s My Account Profile.
1.4 Membership in the Club is non-transferable. Only a Member may use the benefits of their Membership. A Member must promptly notify Jetstar upon becoming aware of any unauthorized use of their Membership. A Member can use their Benefits to make a Jetstar booking for themselves and up to 4 other people (5 passengers total) on jetstar.com. To receive the Benefits, bookings must be made directly through jetstar.com and the Member must be a passenger on the booking and be logged into their Membership at the time of making their booking.
1.5 Applicants must provide an email address and password. The email address and password will be used for security of the Member’s Membership information. It is the Member’s responsibility to ensure that their password is kept secure.
Note: to ensure your password is kept secure, never write it down and avoid choosing obvious passwords like your name or email address
1.6 Members must not act in any way which breaches these Terms and Conditions; or
- abuse or misuse Club Jetstar, facilities, services or arrangements accorded to the Member as a result of Membership including by:
- engage in illegal or fraudulent activities;
- supply or attempt to supply false or misleading information, or making a misrepresentation to Jetstar;
- act in a hostile, abusive or aggressive way towards Jetstar staff;
- act in an unruly manner on board a flight or in any airport lounges; or
- refuse to follow reasonable instructions from any Jetstar staff. Jetstar reserves the right to cancel or suspend membership for breach of the Terms and Conditions.
1.7 Each Member is responsible for ensuring their Membership details are correct when making bookings through their account and must change any details where necessary. Jetstar accepts no responsibility for any losses arising from a Member’s inability to access the Site or any failure to complete a transaction due to the Member losing his or her password or failing to keep Membership details complete and up to date. Without limiting the foregoing, Jetstar shall have no liability to a Member for any loss, damage, costs, expenses or other claims for compensation arising from requests or instructions supplied by a Member which are incomplete, incorrect or inaccurate or arising from their late arrival or non-arrival, or any other fault of Member.
2. Membership term, renewal and payment
2.1 Upon enrolment, each Member will be charged an annual fee. The fee is an annual membership fee and provides customer with 12 months enrolment into the program.
2.2 The fee is non-refundable, notwithstanding Member’s cancellation of membership in the Club.
2.3 The fee is currently NZD$55.00. The fee applicable at the time of joining will be displayed to prospective Members prior to joining. If the member is purchasing their membership in conjunction with a flight booking, they will pay their fee in the currency of the booked fare.
2.4 One (1) year after enrolment in the Club, and on each anniversary thereafter, Members will be automatically charged the fee for the next 12 months for membership in the Club as described in clauses 2.7 and 2.8 below. Jetstar may change the annual membership fee at any time by giving at least one month’s notice to existing Members by email. Jetstar may notify Members of a change in the annual membership fee by way of setting out the applicable new annual membership fee in the reminder email described in clause 2.7. Members will be charged their annual membership fee in the currency of the selected program (i.e. Club Jetstar Australia will be charged in AUD), regardless of whether their initial fee was paid in an alternate currency.
2.5 Member may elect not to renew membership in the Club by selecting the ’Do not auto renew my account’ option on the ’Manage your Club Jetstar Account’ page or by notifying Jetstar in writing at the address at the bottom of this page before the date on which the annual fee is due. Cancellations by mail will take approximately 4 to 6 weeks to become effective. Membership in the Club will continue until the expiry of the 12 month term for which the Member has paid the annual fee. No refunds will be provided upon electing not to renew membership.
2.6 A Member may cancel their Membership with immediate effect at any time by selecting ‘Deactivate your Club Jetstar account immediately’ option within their Club Jetstar account profile or by notifying Jetstar in writing at the address at the bottom of this page. Cancellations by mail will take approximately 4 to 6 weeks to become effective. No refunds will be provided upon cancellation.
2.7 Jetstar will send a reminder email to the email addressed stored in the Member’s profile 4 to 6 weeks before the 12 month membership renewal is due. If the Member does not elect not to renew or cancel their Membership prior to the 12-month anniversary of joining the program (and every 12-month anniversary following) the membership will automatically renew for a further 12 months and the Member’s credit card stored in the Membership profile will be charged the annual fee.
3. Fare purchases and offers
3.1 From time to time Jetstar may offer eligible members a Jetstar Flight Voucher as part of their initial enrolment, for example if the member enrols with Club Jetstar by a specified date.
3.2 Specific terms and conditions apply to Jetstar flight vouchers. These terms and conditions are advised on the voucher and include:
- The voucher will be created in the name of the Member
- The voucher is non-transferable. The voucher is redeemable only by the person whose name is stated on this Voucher and the person named on this Voucher must be a passenger on the booking.
- Member must book (or change) their flight within 6-months of issue.
- Member must redeem the voucher in one booking. Any amount not redeemed in that booking will be lost.
- Voucher is non-transferable.
- All travel is subject to availability at the time of booking, the fare rules quoted at the time of booking and the Jetstar Conditions of Carriage.

3.3 All promotions, fares, and any other special offers whether through Jetstar or any of its partners/affiliates are subject to the terms and conditions specifically pertaining to that offer.
3.4 Members must always be one of the passengers travelling when booking special fares available on Jetstar.com.
3.5 A Member may not purchase tickets for resale. All changes to the tickets and fares are subject to the applicable Fare Rules, which may require change fee plus fare difference. The fare difference may be substantial.
3.6 As part of Club Jetstar, Jetstar Airways provides Members with discounts and other benefits from third party providers. This is part of the bundled benefit of Membership. Member offers provided by third parties are subject to the offer terms and conditions pertaining to that offer as advised on the Club Jetstar webpages on Jetstar.com, as well as general terms and conditions pertaining to the third parties products or services.
3.7 Member offers, including those by third parties are subject to change as notified on the Site from time to time.
4. Privacy and personal information
4.1 It is a condition of Membership that a Member consents and authorises Jetstar to collect, use and disclose the information obtained from the Member during the booking process at the time the Member elected to join Club Jetstar, along with any updates and additional information provided by the Member or any activity undertaking whilst logged in as a Club Jetstar Member in relation to the Member for the purposes described in this clause, and disclose such information to Jetstar, the Qantas Group and other organisations for the purposes of:
- providing products or services;
- improving customer service, including by means of research, marketing, product development and planning;
- Jetstar marketing its products or services or the products or services of third parties through email including personalised emails, SMS, personalised web-based marketing and hard copy mailouts; and
- any third party providing services to Jetstar, the Qantas Group or Members in connection with the administration of Club Jetstar. This information may be transferred to or from Australia for these purposes transferred to or from Australia for these purposes.
If all or any part of the requested information is not provided by the Member, Jetstar may not be able to provide all Club Benefits to that Member.
4.2 On request by a Member and to the extent permitted or required by law, Jetstar Airways will provide that Member with access to and the ability to correct their personal information held by Jetstar Airways. Only the Member named on the account will be entitled to access their Membership information. However, Jetstar Airways does comply with validly served and executed court orders and subpoenas and cooperates with investigations by State, Federal and international agencies. Under those circumstances or where otherwise required by law, a Member’s account information may be shared with others with or without that Member’s knowledge or consent.
5.1 Should Jetstar not be able to run any fare sale event as promoted, Jetstar will take all reasonable steps to make available an equivalent sale event to Members within a reasonable time. Jetstar’s liability is limited in such circumstances to making available that equivalent sale event to Members.
5.2 Members are responsible for investigating the suitability of Jetstar and third party products prior to purchase. Except as expressly provided for in these Terms and Conditions, Jetstar shall not be liable for any loss, cost, expense or damage of any nature whatever (whether direct or indirect) resulting from a Member changing his or her mind after purchase.
5.3 While Jetstar Airways provides third party discounts as part of Membership, Jetstar Airways is not responsible for any representations made by third parties or for fulfilling the contractual or other obligations should a Member choose to purchase a third party product. Responsibility and liability for any loss or damage relating to products and services of third parties rests with that third party and is governed by that third party’s terms and conditions.
5.4 To the extent permitted by law, Jetstar Airways excludes all liability for any loss or damage whatsoever (including but not limited to physical and psychological injury, and loss or damage to property of whatever nature) that may arise in any way in connection with the offer of goods or services by Jetstar or any third party service providers, or in connection with the supply of such goods or services.
5.5 Jetstar Airways will take all reasonable steps to deliver emails to the email address notified by the Member, however Jetstar Airways will not be responsible for lost, misdirected, bounced, or late delivery of sale information delivered via email due to any cause beyond Jetstar’s reasonable control.
5.6 Unless otherwise required by law, Jetstar Airways does not accept any liability whatsoever for any injury, damage, loss, delay, additional expenses or inconvenience caused directly or indirectly by any events which are beyond its control including, but not limited to, war, civil disturbance, fire, floods, acts of God, acts of Government or of any other authorities, accident or failure of machinery or equipment not under Jetstar Airways’s custody or control, or industrial action.
5.7 Jetstar Airways makes no representation as to the safety, conditions or other issues that may exist at any destination. You should obtain travel advice before booking and travel. For international destinations, check the Travel Advisories on the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade website opens in new window.
5.8 Jetstar aims to ensure that viruses (or other programs having adverse effects) do not reside on the Site, but Jetstar accepts no responsibility for any virus or other malicious code that a Member may acquire from the use of the Site or from any supplier site.
5.9 This section applies only to the extent permitted by law.
6. Changes to Terms and Conditions
Jetstar may amend the terms and conditions of this Agreement from time to time by posting such changes on the Site. Except as otherwise determined by Jetstar, all amended terms shall automatically be effective 1 month after they are initially posted on the Site. Jetstar will attempt to, but is not obligated to, email current Members at the email address provided in the Member’s profile to notify them of any amendments to the terms and conditions of this Agreement provided that Jetstar shall not be responsible for any lost, misdirected, bounced, or late delivery of any email sent by Jetstar.
7. Copyright and Trademarks
7.1 Jetstar Airways owns or is lawfully entitled to all of the copyrighted material in Jetstar.com and the Site. All other intellectual property rights are reserved. The Site is for personal use only, and may not be used for commercial purposes. A Member may only download to his or her personal computer for viewing purposes and print out a number of pages of the Site for the Member’s personal use. Member may not modify, copy, distribute, transmit, display, perform, reproduce, publish, license, create derivative works from, transfer or sell any information obtained from the Site
7.2 All trademarks, product names and company names and logos appearing on the Site are the property of their respective owners.
8.1 Interpretation: In these Terms and Conditions, unless the contrary intention appears:
- the singular includes the plural and vice versa;
- dates or times are Melbourne, Australia dates or times;
- a reference to ’include’ or ’including’ means ’including but not limited to’.
8.2 Governing Law: The Terms and Conditions and membership in My Account are governed by and will be construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia irrespective of where the application for Membership has been completed by the Member or submitted to Jetstar. In any action or other legal process with respect to any matter or thing in connection with these Terms and Conditions or Membership the Member submits to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the State of Victoria.
8.3 For New Zealand-based services or products: The New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 may apply however it will not apply where Membership has been obtained, or a Member has represented it has been obtained, for business purposes, in which case provisions of that Act are excluded from these Terms and Conditions.
8.4 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions affects any rights a Member may have and which by law cannot be excluded, including under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) and under State and Territory consumer protection legislation.
8.5 If part or all of any clause of these Terms and Conditions is illegal, invalid or unenforceable then it will be read down to the extent necessary to ensure that it is not illegal, invalid or unenforceable, but if that is not possible, it will be severed from these Terms and Conditions and the remaining provisions of these Terms and Conditions will continue to have full force and effect.
9.1 Jetstar reserves the right to eliminate, add, change and substitute benefits and participating vendors without notice.
9.2 Member agrees that no joint venture, partnership, employment, or agency relationship exists between you and Jetstar as a result of this Agreement or use of the Site.
9.3 The English language terms and conditions on Jetstar.com will be the controlling terms and conditions of this Agreement.
9.4 By agreeing to these Terms and Conditions, you are agreeing to receive all Club emails sent from Jetstar. If you cancel your membership in the Club, this will stop all Club emails from being sent to you effective immediately. If you select not to receive other promotional emails from Jetstar but are still enrolled in the Club, you will no longer receive any other emails from Jetstar except those regarding the Club.
9.5 These Terms and Conditions and any other terms referenced herein, shall constitute the entire agreement between you and Jetstar.
9.6 Any rights not expressly granted herein are reserved.
9.7 Jetstar recommends that Members consult their accountant or tax adviser to ensure that they understand possible tax (including fringe benefits tax) implications, if any, related to Membership and Benefits.
