These are our payment options for payments made in New Zealand Dollars (NZD). For payment in other currencies, different payment options are available.
Jetstar FareShare lets you book group travel and split the cost between passengers. You can use FareShare in Australia and New Zealand for flights and flight-related products like bags, seats and meals, using any of the below payment methods. A non-refundable NZD $5 FareShare fee per individual group applies. If you’re the organiser and want to use a gift card or voucher, you can’t use them for the FareShare holding fee or your share of the booking if you want to pay straight away. The best way is to put your flights on hold – then all payment methods will be available to you when you complete your booking.
Credit, debit or charge card
We accept international Visa, MasterCard, Diners Club, UnionPay, JCB and UATP cards. American Express is available if your (first) flight is operated by Jetstar Airways (JQ) or Jetstar Asia (3K) or Jetstar Japan (GK). A Booking and Service Fee will apply. Australian residents can pay with a Jetstar MasterCard or Jetstar Platinum MasterCard and avoid the Booking and Service Fee.
You can also pay for your Jetstar flights using UnionPay. When you choose this option, you'll be redirected to the UnionPay website. A Booking and Service fee per passenger per flight will apply.
Card foreign transaction fee
Your credit or debit card payments may be processed outside the country where you purchased your booking. The bank that issued your card may identify your credit or debit card payment as a foreign transaction and charge you a fee. For further information, please contact your bank.
If you have a bank account issued in mainland China, you can pay for your Jetstar flights using Alipay opens in new window. When you choose this option, you'll be redirected to the Alipay site or app. A Booking and Service fee per passenger per flight will apply.
Alipay is available in the following currencies: Chinese yuan (CNY), US dollars (USD), Australian dollars (AUD), Hong Kong dollars (HKD), Singapore dollars (SGD) and Japanese yen (JPY).
If you have a bank account issued in mainland China, you can pay for your Jetstar flights using WeChat Pay. When you choose this option, you'll be redirected to a secure payment gateway (hosted by our partner WorldPay) where you’ll use your WeChat app to scan a QR code. A Booking and Service Fee will apply. (Please note: WeChat Pay is currently only available on the desktop version of jetstar.com.)
Vouchers issued by Jetstar can be used for part or full payment of your fare. Please note that vouchers can only be used once and any unused portion of the value of a voucher will be forfeited. No Booking and Service Fee applies.
If there’s a remaining balance, you must pay this on jetstar.com or the Jetstar app with another voucher, POLi or by credit, debit or charge card. Jetstar voucher, POLi and Jetstar Mastercard payments are fee-free; however a Booking and Service Fee will apply to credit, debit and charge cards.
No Booking and Service Fee will apply if you choose to pay the balance with another voucher, a Jetstar Mastercard or with POLi on jetstar.com.
Jetstar voucher payments can’t be split with POLi on the Jetstar app or the Jetstar mobile website.
Jetstar Gift Card
You can use Jetstar Gift Cards to make purchases at jetstar.com up to the initial or remaining Card value. No Payment Fee applies.
To make a purchase for an amount exceeding the Card value or the remaining Card value; you must pay the balance on jetstar.com with another Gift Card, voucher, POLi or by credit, debit or charge card. Jetstar voucher, Jetstar Gift Card, POLi and Jetstar MasterCard payments are fee-free, however a Payment Fee will apply to credit card, debit and charge cards.
Jetstar Gift Card payments can’t be split with POLi on the Jetstar app or the Jetstar mobile website.No change will be given for any remaining Card value, however the value can be used in whole or part for future purchases until the Card expires.
If you choose to make a payment with PayPal, you’ll be redirected to the PayPal website. A Booking and Service Fee will apply.
When you pay via direct debit using POLi from eligible New Zealand banks opens in new window, your payment details will be automatically entered into the relevant fields once you log in to your online banking. No Booking and Service Fee applies for POLi payments on jetstar.com, the Jetstar mobile website or the Jetstar app.
On all Jetstar Airways (JQ) flights you’ll need a credit card to buy food and drink on board, or you can pre-purchase meals, snacks or an In-Flight Meal Deal.
