Sydney Airport T2 upgrades

Sydney Airport’s Terminal 2 (T2) will undergo major upgrades starting on 30 April 2025, with completion expected by late 2026. During the first stage of the upgrades, there will be some changes for domestic flights departing from T2:
  • Our bag drop area will be temporarily relocating. The new area is just a short walk from our current location, only about a minute away
  • We’re switching to online check-in to help save you time at the airport. If you can’t check in online, we’ll have a limited number of kiosks available
As things will look different to what you’re used to, please take a moment to read the information below. Here are some important steps to help you prepare for your journey:
  1. Before arriving at the airport, check in via the Jetstar app or our website and save your digital boarding pass to your phone. Note. Online check-in opens 48 hrs before and closes 40 mins before departure
  2. If you have a bag to check in, arrive at the airport earlier than usual, as ongoing construction may cause delays in getting to your boarding gate
  3. If you’ve checked in online and are travelling with:
  • Carry-on baggage only: Confirm that you don’t exceed your carry-on allowance, then go straight to the security screening point and your boarding gate
  • Checked baggage: Go to the bag-drop area and follow the steps below to drop off your baggage
  1. If you can’t check in online or have requested Specific Assistance, go straight to the check-in/bag-drop facility and visit a kiosk or speak to a staff member

Travelling with checked baggage

Follow the steps below to print your bag tags and drop off your baggage:
  1. Make sure you’ve checked in via the Jetstar app or our website before arriving and save your digital boarding pass to your phone
  2. Go to the Jetstar airport kiosks and:
    a) Print your bag tag by scanning your mobile boarding pass or PDF. To help with the scanning process, don’t forget to increase your phone's screen brightness to 100%
    b) Attach the tag to the side of your bag. If you have multiple bags to check in, please put a tag on each one
  3. Go to the bag-drop area to drop off your tagged baggage
  4. Head to the security screening point and your boarding gate

Can’t check in online?

We know that online check-in may not be an option for everyone. If you're unable to check in online, simply head to the check-in area at the airport - there will be a limited number of kiosks available, and we’ll have staff available to help.

International flights at Sydney Airport

The construction only affects customers flying on a domestic flight. If you’re flying on an international flight with Jetstar, your journey won’t be impacted by the upgrades.
