Travelling to and from Bali

Updated 13 December 2024 These travel requirements must be completed before entering Bali:
  1. Customs declaration form
  2. SATUSEHAT Health Pass form
  3. Visa application
  4. Tourist fee
Note. If you can’t complete any of these travel requirements online successfully, you can do so when you arrive at the airport in Bali.

Travel and entry requirements

Customs declaration form

A Customs declaration form must be completed online within 72 hours of your flight departing. After filling in the online form, you will receive a QR code which you should save to your phone or print it off and bring it with you.

SATUSEHAT Health Pass form

A SATUSEHAT Health Pass (SHHP) must be completed online within 72 hours of your flight departing. After filling in the online form, you will receive a QR code which you should save to your phone or print it off and bring it with you.

Visa application

A visa is required for most travellers visiting or transiting through Bali. There are two options to get a visa: a) Apply online for an e-Visa before arriving in Bali; or
b) Apply for a Visa on Arrival at the airport Important: A Visa on Arrival (VOA) is available to passport holders from 97 countries. If you are ineligible for a VOA, ensure you apply for your visa online before departing. Be sure to review the visa and entry requirements before your trip.

Tourist fee

All tourists visiting Bali must pay a tourist fee of IDR 150,000 (around AUD 14.40). Introduced by the Balinese government, this fee supports the preservation of the island’s natural environment and heritage. If you can’t pay before departing, you can pay on arrival when you land in Bali. Some exemptions apply. For more info, see Love Bali FAQs.

Transiting

If you have connecting flights, there may be additional transit requirements. Make sure you meet the requirements of your transit location as well as your final destination. Visit our International page for further information

Airport auto gates

Automated gates are now operational at Denpasar Airport. To use these, you must have an approved e-visa, an electronic passport and be 6 years of age or older. For more info, see Bali International Airport Auto Gates opens in new window.

Damaged passports

Entry into Indonesia may be refused if your passport is damaged, including normal wear and tear that impacts the legibility or scanning. Make sure your passport is undamaged and valid for at least 6 months from the date you plan to leave Indonesia. Travel requirements can change at short notice. Please check government websites for the latest information before booking and departure.
