Where is Gold Coast Airport?
Gold Coast Airport Parking is open 24 hours a day and it is super close to the airport – like, it’s right there. Park your car, get your bags and step straight into the terminal. Book your parking online in advance for the best deal.
How to get to Gold Coast Airport
There’s plenty of parking at Gold Coast Airport, so driving there is one easy option for shorter trips. You can also catch a local cab or a ride share. Other alternatives are the SkyBus Gold Coast Airport Shuttle that travels between the airport and many popular Gold Coast tourist spots. (If you’re coming from Byron Bay, there’s a Byron Express Skybus service.)
For public transport, Translink operates routes 777 and 760 to the airport. Catch route 777 from the Broadbeach South tram station (the G:link from Surfers Paradise or Southport stops here.) The 760 runs from Varsity Lakes Train Station to the airport.
Where to check in
Gold Coast Airport is fairly small and all on one level, so you really can’t lose your way! (If you’re unsure where you need to go, look for the Airport Ambassadors in their bright blue shirts and they’ll help you.) Check-in counters and kiosks are directly in front of the central entrance. Check in, drop your bags off and head through security. If you’re flying international, you’ll go through security first, then on through to outbound immigration screening.
Getting to your gate
All the domestic departure gates are across the back of the terminal building, so all you need to do is keep an eye on the Flight Information screens while you enjoy a bite to eat. They’re right there.
Where to eat at Gold Coast Airport
Once you’ve checked in, you can relax, get some coffee, maybe do a little shopping… If you’re hungry, there’s a decent range of dining options, from sushi to salads to classic fast food, or you can get a refreshing beer and a bar snack at Blackstone Bar and Café. (If you’re flying international, eat up before you go through immigration as there aren’t many options on the other side.) You’ll also find a pharmacy, newsagent and convenience store in the terminal, along with gift stores and boutiques, for any last minute purchases.
Things to do at Gold Coast Airport
If you’re lucky, you might catch some pop-up live entertainment from one of the area’s arts festivals. Otherwise, if you’ve got time between flights, how can you resist a dive into those famous Gold Coast waters? Stash your luggage in the lockers located in the short term car park and head across to Kirra Beach (it’s about a kilometre away), or hop in a cab to Coolangatta, which is just a few minutes down the road. If you don’t have that much time, the Coast Bar is an al fresco bar at the front of the airport, so at least you can soak up some sunny vibes.
