When it's not peak tourist season, negotiate a return journey price as there may not be taxis waiting near this beach when you are ready to leave. Koh Lipe is surrounded by coral reefs and great snorkelling starts right from the beach. In front of the Baan Koh Adang School, you'll find a small shack where longtail- boat operators wait for customers. You can request a half-day private snorkelling tour, and your boatman will know the best places. 6. Castaway Beach Resort

Laze away the days in a hammock on the deck of your breezy two-storey bungalow at Castaway. There's an in-house dive centre so underwater enthusiasts will be in their element.
