A wine lover’s paradise – and so much more
South Australia is a mix of dreamy summers, outstanding food and wine, incredible outback landscapes and beautiful beaches. The region is home to Australia's most highly regarded red wine producing region, the Barossa Valley; the famous wildlife sanctuary of Kangaroo Island and the dramatic outback experience of the Flinders Ranges.
This southern central Australian state borders all the other mainland states. The majority of South Australians live in the quietly classy capital of Adelaide, one of Australia's cultural hotspots, known for its arts, fringe and music festivals. Most of the remainder live along the south-eastern coast and the Murray River, where houseboat cruises and watersports team up with food and wine trails to create some unforgettable holiday experiences.
