Please let us know which level of assistance you require. It is helpful to identify the level of assistance you need by referencing the following recognised IATA codes when you book:

WCHR - wheelchair ramp:

  • you need wheelchair assistance between check-in and boarding
  • you are able to ascend/descend steps unassisted
  • you can make your own way within the aircraft cabin to/from your seat

WCHS - wheelchair stairs:

  • you need wheelchair assistance between check-in and boarding
  • you cannot ascend/descend steps unassisted
  • can make your own way within the aircraft cabin to/from your seat

WCHC - wheelchair cabin:

  • you travel with a mobility aid such as a manual or battery-powered wheelchair
  • you need wheelchair assistance between check-in and boarding
  • you cannot ascend/descend steps unassisted.
  • you are immobile within the aircraft cabin and may require assistance with transfer into/out of the aircraft seat.

All levels of wheelchair assistance include assistance from the aircraft to the baggage claim area at your destination. Of course, you are welcome to make your own way throughout the airport too.

Please note that there can be some delays in providing wheelchair assistance, particularly during busy periods, so please factor this into your travel arrangements.

If you require assistance with onward travel – including to connecting flights – please make sure you arrange for someone to meet you as we’re not able to assist beyond baggage claim.
