Welcome back to international travel! Flying will be a little different and there’s information you need to know before you’re ready to fly. There’s both Jetstar requirements and government requirements for your destination, so make sure you know what you need to do before you arrive at the airport.

Jetstar requirements

On Jetstar international flights to and from Australia, you are required to be fully vaccinated with a TGA approved or recognised vaccine at least 7 days before your flight (exceptions apply). You'll need to provide proof of vaccination at the airport. If there are different vaccination requirements for your destination or another airline on your itinerary, the strictest rules will apply. Government requirements

Check destination requirements

Each destination has their own exit and entry requirements for arriving and returning passengers and these can change at short notice. Make sure you check government websites before you book, and before each flight, including connecting and transit flights. Remember, requirements may change and you’ll need to have the necessary documentation ready.

Travel requirements may include:

  • a pre-departure COVID-19 lab test, at extra cost to you
  • proof of vaccination
  • mandatory travel insurance
  • quarantine upon arrival
  • pre-arrival forms and declarations

Checking in

Online check-in is currently unavailable for international flights, you'll need to check in at the airport counter. You must bring all relevant travel documents with you, such as COVID-19 test results, proof of vaccination and entry permits. Make sure you have met all other mandatory exit and entry requirements before you get to the airport. For example, downloading contract tracing apps, purchasing travel insurance and submitting health declarations. Please allow extra time for airport check-in.
