Refunds/voucher on fare and Jetstar add-ons

  • Voucher available for cancellations before Change Deadline (see Jetstar Voucher section below)
  • A Voucher is not available if you have changed to a Starter fare with a Flex bundle after making your original booking (unless you have purchased FareCredit with your original booking) or if you request a voucher after the Change Deadline, except in certain circumstances including under the Australian Consumer Law, your local law or Conditions of Carriage.
  • If you have purchased FareCredit, the relevant terms and conditions apply and are available on Jetstar.com at the time of purchase.
  • Travel agents with ticketless bookings made via the GDS (Global Distribution System) channel must request a voucher through Jetstar.
  • Travel agents with GDS bookings issued on a ticket can hold the fare in credit by cancelling the segment before the Change Deadline and by keeping the ticket coupon in open ‘O’ status.
  • Add-ons (excluding hotels, activities, insurance and car hire) can only be refunded in the form of a Voucher when requested as part of a cancellation of the applicable flight.
  • For flights bookings made with a travel agent where add-ons (excluding hotels, activities, insurance and car hire) are purchased directly with Jetstar, voucher refund requests for those add-ons should be made directly with Jetstar after the voucher refund is requested for the flight booking via the travel agent.
  • For cancellation of Points Plus Pay - Flights bookings made under Starter fare with Flex bundle fare rules, the value of the booking including any Add-ons (excluding hotels, activities, insurance and car hire) will be credited to a Voucher.
  • Other Jetstar terms and conditions or the terms and conditions of the third-party service provider may apply and you should check these carefully before making your purchase. The details of the other Jetstar terms and conditions or third party are provided on Jetstar.com at the time of booking.
  • You may be entitled to a refund or an alternative flight under the Australian Consumer Law, your local law or Conditions of Carriage.

Missed check-in deadline or fail to board within the required time

  • Non-refundable/loss of fare, except in certain circumstances including under the Australian Consumer Law, your local law or Conditions of Carriage. Check your itinerary and Jetstar.com for strict check-in and boarding times.

Time/Date change

  • Same day changes - for changes made on the day of your scheduled flight departure and up to the Change Deadline, free to move to another available flight departing on the same day.
  • Before day of your scheduled flight departure, permitted upon payment of the applicable Fare Difference within Change Deadline.
  • No fees are payable where you are entitled to an alternative flight under the Australian Consumer Law, your local law or Conditions of Carriage.

Origin/Destination changes

  • Not permitted.
  • An origin/destination change is when the place of departure or arrival of a booking is changed. This includes changing the date of an outbound flight so it would depart after the date of a return inbound flight.

Passenger Name changes

  • Permitted upon payment of the applicable Fare Difference within the Change Deadline via the Jetstar Contact Centre.
  • Name changes can be made for an individual passenger on a booking, but must apply to all flights for that passenger.
  • Name Changes are not permitted for Qantas Frequent Flyer Points Plus Pay or JAL Mileage bookings.

Change Deadline and Point of contact

  • For changes made on the day of your scheduled flight departure to travel on the same day, changes can be made:
    • at Jetstar.com or Jetstar App before the original scheduled flight opens for check-in at the airport if originally the booking was made via Jetstar.com, the Jetstar App or Jetstar Contact Centre.
    • at the Contact Centre before the original scheduled flight opens for check-in at the airport and does not incur an additional service fee.
    • at the Jetstar Service Desk at the airport before the original scheduled flight closes for check-in at the airport and does not incur an additional service fee.
  • All other permitted changes must be made before the original scheduled flight opens for check-in at the airport.
  • Airport check in opening times are available on your Jetstar itinerary and on Jetstar.com.
  • Time and Date changes can be made via Jetstar.com or on the Jetstar App if original booking was made via Jetstar.com, the Jetstar App or Jetstar Contact Centre.
  • All changes can be made via Jetstar Contact Centre or Jetstar Service Desk at the airport and additional booking fees (see Fees and charges) apply if the booking was not originally made via the Jetstar Contact Centre or Jetstar Service Desk at the airport. Booking fees apply at the rate published on the day of change (except change fees). Booking fees are subject to change and Jetstar will give at least one month's notice of a change by updating the Fees and charges webpage. Additional booking fees can be avoided by making changes through Jetstar.com or on the Jetstar App.
  • Vouchers must be requested through Jetstar.com, the Jetstar App or the Jetstar Contact Centre before check-in opens at the airport.

Voucher

  • Vouchers are available per passenger, per flight provided you cancel the affected flight before the Change Deadline.
  • Vouchers will be sent by email within 72 hours.
  • The Voucher can only be used for new a booking that includes the original travelling passenger.
  • The Voucher can be used towards payment for multiple Jetstar flight bookings until the value of this Voucher is exhausted and up until the Expiry Date of this Voucher.
  • Vouchers will be issued for the amount paid, including any Fare Difference or add-ons (excluding hotels, activities, insurance and car hire) paid after your original Starter Fare with Flex bundle booking

  • Other Jetstar terms and conditions or the terms and conditions of the third-party service provider may apply and you should check these carefully before making your purchase. The details of the other Jetstar terms and conditions or third party are provided on Jetstar.com at the time of booking.

Change Fees and Fare Difference

  • Change Fees do not apply for permitted changes to a Starter fare with Flex bundle.
  • Fare Difference applies per passenger, per flight. Your new fare will be at least the amount of your original fare or fare with bundle and may be more. You cannot change to a lower fare or fare with bundle. No refund will be applicable if a lower fare or fare with bundle is available. However, if the new bundle price is lower this will be offset against any fare price difference. The Fare Difference may be substantial.
  • Fare Difference for permitted changes to Club Jetstar member exclusive fare bookings is the difference between your original Club Jetstar member exclusive fare or Club Jetstar member exclusive fare with bundle and an available Club Jetstar member exclusive fare or Club Jetstar member exclusive fare with bundle on the date of change which is at least the same fare or fare with bundle. These changes must be made via the Jetstar Contact Centre and does not incur an additional service fee.
  • If a Club Jetstar member exclusive fare or Club Jetstar member exclusive fare with bundle is not available or for permitted changes to Club Jetstar member exclusive fare bookings made on Jetstar.com or the Jetstar App, the Fare Difference will be the difference between the Club Jetstar member exclusive fare or fare with bundle originally booked and an available non-member fare or non-member fare with bundle on the date of change which is at least the same fare or fare with bundle. If the same fare or fare with bundle is not available, the Fare Difference will be the difference between the original Club Jetstar member exclusive fare or Club Jetstar member exclusive fare with bundle and the next available higher fare or fare with bundle.
  • Fare Difference for changes to other bookings is the difference (if any) between your original fare or fare with bundle and an available fare or fare with bundle on the date of change. which is at least the same fare or fare with bundle. If the same fare is not available, the Fare Difference will be the difference between the original fare or fare with bundle and the next available higher fare or fare with bundle.

Permitted fare/bundle changes

  • Subject to payment of Fare Difference applicable at time of change, Starter fare with Flex bundles can be changed to an available Starter fare with a Flex bundle, Starter fare with Plus bundle, Starter fare with Max bundle, Business Class fare or Business Class fare with Max bundle.
  • Club Jetstar member exclusive fare Starter fare with Flex bundle bookings can be changed only to an available member or non-member Starter fare with Flex bundle, Starter fare with Plus bundle, Starter fare with Max bundle, Business Class fare or Business Class fare with Max bundle.
  • If you change from a Starter fare with Flex bundle to a Starter fare with Max bundle and later cancel your booking, you will not be eligible for a Voucher, except if you are entitled to a remedy under the Australian Consumer Law, your local law or Conditions of Carriage.
  • If you change from a Starter fare with Flex bundle to a Business Class fare with Max bundle and later cancel your booking, you will not be eligible for a refund, except if you are entitled to a remedy under the Australian Consumer Law, your local law or Conditions of Carriage.
  • Starter fares with Flex bundle cannot be downgraded to a Starter fare.

Rebooking

  • You must rebook onto an available Jetstar flight. Jetstar does not hold open-dated bookings.

Currency

  • All amounts will be charged in the currency you made your original booking.

Earning Qantas Points and Status Credits, JAL Mileage Bank Miles and Emirates Skywards Miles

  • Qantas Points and Status Credits are not earned on Starter fares with Flex bundles - except for travel on New Zealand domestic flights. These bookings will earn Qantas Points at the Discount Economy rate.
  • If you are travelling on a domestic flight within New Zealand that connects to an international Jetstar flight, then you must purchase a Starter fare with Plus bundle, Starter fare with Max bundle or Business class fare with Max bundle with Jetstar in order to earn Qantas Points and Status Credits.
  • Starter fares with Flex bundle are not eligible to earn JAL Mileage Bank Miles or Emirates Skywards Miles.

Qantas Frequent Flyer Classic Upgrade Rewards

  • Starter Fare with Flex bundle is not eligible for Classic Upgrade Rewards.

Qantas Frequent Flyer Points Plus Pay - Flights on Jetstar and JAL Mileage - Additional Payments

  • All changes or additions to your booking must be paid with money and cannot be paid with points.
  • Changes or additions will be calculated by using the original monetary value and currency of the fare (as determined by Jetstar) and as per the conditions listed in the Change Fee and Fare Difference section of these fare rules.
