A vibrant city of gardens, art and castles

Sitting pretty on Shikoku's northern tip, the picturesque port town of Takamatsu is the island’s second largest city, known for its superb gardens, castle ruins and arty attractions. Its proximity to Naoshima art island adds to its popularity, as does the local culinary speciality, sanuki udon.

  • Be enchanted by the tranquillity of centuries-old Japanese garden, Ritsurin-kōen
  • Jump on the ferry to Naoshima Art Island, famous for Yayoi Kusama's iconic pumpkin
