Hamilton Island is an tropical getaway with something for everyone. Spend a lazy day at your resort then head to the beach and go diving, snorkeling or sailing. There are bushwalking tracks, pristine golf courses and heaps of kid-friendly activities, so everyone's in for a good time.
There's fun on land and sea at Hamilton Island.
With such incredible landscape, it makes sense that Hamilton Island is all about outdoor activities. There are so many to try, it's hard to know where to start. There's go-karting, bushwalking, fishing, kayaking, parasailing, scuba diving, tennis and windsurfing. If you're looking for added adrenaline, you can hop on a jet ski, a quad bike or even a helicopter. Kids will love meeting animals at Hamilton Island Wildlife, playing a round of mini-golf and taking to the water in a dinghy.
Heart Reef brings the romance.
Take your romance game to the next level, book a surprise seaplane tour over the appropriately named Heart Reef. It's shaped exactly as you'd expect and it's one of the most stunning sights you can see from the sky. Tours also take in the magnificent Whitehaven Beach. For a unique overnight experience, book a stay at Reefsuites, Australia's first underwater accommodation.
Epic bushwalks highlight the island's inland beauty.
Explore the island's hiking and walking trails that will lead you to hidden coves, secluded beaches and hilltop lookouts. The Hamilton Islands Icons Trail is a fun one to start with, going past four iconic landmarks – and major photo ops. There's a 3m-high chair, a giant swing, an oversized hammock and a panoramic viewing platform. The views from here will blow your mind. You can download a map that lays out all the different tracks, including how long they take and how challenging they are.
