Booking and Service Fees

For most bookings, a Booking and Service Fee applies. Fees are priced in the currency of a flight’s departure country. When a different currency is used to pay for the booking, fees are converted to that currency at an exchange rate agreed on with our payment partners. See below:

Note: Where your trip includes international and domestic flights, the booking and service fee will be determined by your international flight.

Refund fee

This fee applies for all Business Max bookings and for Starter Max^ bundles booked through a partner airline or some travel agents. Contact your travel agent for more information. For details, see Fare rules. Applies per passenger per booking. Does not apply to any circumstances other than those listed above.

^ Starter Max bundles are no longer available to purchase directly with Jetstar from 4 June 2024.

Refund administration fee

Some fare types are non-refundable or only partially refundable, subject to our Conditions of Carriage or applicable law. However, if you choose not to travel, contact us to request a refund of certain third-party charges and Government taxes that may be included in your fare: excluding fuel and insurance surcharges. If you request a refund of these third-party charges and taxes, the following administration fee applies, unless otherwise exempted by applicable law. If this administration fee exceeds the amount of the available refund, no refund will be paid and you will not be charged an administration fee. Applies per passenger, per booking (variation apply*).

Change fee via jetstar.com (Manage booking) the Jetstar Contact Centre, General Sales Agent (GSA), or at the airport

Fee applies per, passenger per flight when you change the date or the time of your flights at Manage booking, by phone or online chat at jetstar.com, in person at a GSA, or at the airport service desk*This fee also applies when you make name changes to your booking through the Contact Centre by phone or online chat.

New bookings made on and from 29 October 2025

The change fee amount will vary based on how far in advance of the original flight departure you make the change. If you make changes to your booking:

From 30 days (inclusive of day 30) until the day of your original scheduled flight departure: you will be charged a higher fee
More than 30 days in advance of your original flight departing: You will be charged a lower fee

Change fees for bookings made on and from 14 November 2024 to 28 October 2025

From 14 November 2024, the change fee amount will vary based on how far in advance of the original flight departure you make the change. If you make changes to your booking:

From 30 days (inclusive of day 30) until the day of your original scheduled flight departure: you will be charged a higher fee
More than 30 days in advance of your original flight departing: You will be charged a lower fee

Contact Centre booking fee

Applies per passenger, per flight when you make a new booking through phone or online chat. If your original booking was made via jetstar.com, this fee also applies when you change the date or time of your flights, or your fare type through phone or online chat. In addition to this fee, you’ll also be charged the Jetstar Contact Centre change fee listed above. Changes are always cheapest to make at Manage booking.

Contact Centre Ancillary Fee

Applies per passenger, per item, when you add baggage, seats, Chill Kits, or in-flight entertainment to your booking through phone or online chat. You can avoid this fee by purchasing what you need when you make your own booking at jetstar.com, or after you book at Manage Booking. It’s cheapest to purchase checked baggage online when you book your flight.
