The Jetstar (JQ) Fleet

Jetstar launched its first Australian Domestic services in May 2004 operating a fleet of 14 Boeing 717-200 aircraft. The airline received the first of its A320-200 aircraft in June 2004 from the Airbus factory in Toulouse, France. Since then it has progressively taken delivery of an additional 26 Airbus A320s and has phased out the B717 aircraft. The A320 offers the widest cabin of any single-aisle aircraft and is fitted with 177 leather seats in a single class configuration. Today, Jetstar's fleet has grown and now operates three different Airbus aircrafts across its Domestic and International operations. This is made up of 27 Airbus A320s, 1 Airbus A321 and 6 Airbus A330s.

International Fleet

Airbus A330-200

Jetstar's international long-haul services are operated by a fleet of Airbus A330-200 aircraft. Configured into two cabins, StarClass and Economy, the aircraft has a total capacity of 303 passengers. The cabin interiors have been refurbished to reflect the Jetstar colour scheme and comfort levels, including all seats being upholstered with grey leather.

The StarClass cabin offers 38 leather covered seats, offering more personal space and comfort than Economy class. Each seat is equipped with in seat power allowing passengers to plug in a laptop or recharge personal music players. The seats also have adjustable lumbar support and headrests with wings on the side of the head rest to ensure you can rest comfortably.

The Economy class cabin on the A330 - 200

The Economy class cabin will offer 265 leather covered seats each with a 31 inch seat pitch. Each seat has an adjustable wings in the headrest. There is a water fountain in the economy class cabin with cups.

Seating

The seat pitch on Jetstar's Airbus A320 is 30 inches. The new Airbus A320s feature all leather slim-line seats with 1 inch of extra width providing additional space and comfort. The seat pitch on the Airbus A330 aircraft is 38 inches in StarClass and 31 inches in Economy class.

StarClass - for extra comfort

StarClass passengers will have an unlimited beverage and snack bar, as well as all meals, included as part of the StarClass personalised service. For each meal, StarClass passengers will be able to select from three meal choices, one of which will be vegetarian. The number of meal services will differ depending on the length of your flight. Beverages will include water, juices, soft drinks, tea, coffee and a range of alcoholic drinks.

Economy class - it's all about choice

On international services operated by A330 aircraft and limited international services operated by A320 and A321 aircraft , economy class passengers can pre-select and pay for the option of having their meals included during their flight when they make their booking or they can purchase from a range of food and beverage items once on board. When pre-selecting the option of having meals, passengers can indicate if they would like vegetarian meals. Pre-purchased meals will include unlimited non-alcoholic drinks. This includes beverages such as water, juices, soft drinks, tea and coffee. Additional snacks and alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase inflight.

Economy class passengers who do not pre-select and pay for their meals will be able to purchase a meal during meal services. Please note that without pre-purchase, we can not guarantee your preferred choice of meal will be available.

Passengers are also welcome to bring their own food on board however please note that there will be no refrigeration facilities or any heating facilities on board and crew will not provide cutlery, napkins or cups for food brought on board by passengers. All Economy class passengers will be given a complimentary bottle of water at the beginning of their flight. There will also be a water fountain and disposable cups in the economy class cabin. All other beverages, including additional bottled water is available for purchase.

The range of beverages available for purchase will include water, juices, soft drinks, tea, coffee and a range of alcoholic drinks. Please note that only alcohol that has been provided by cabin crew is permitted to be consumed on board.

On domestic services and services to and from New Zealand, passengers who would like a drink or snack inflight can purchase refreshments on board. Our selection includes fresh sandwiches, snacks, confectionery, soft drinks, fruit juices, beer, wine and spirits. Tea and coffee can also be purchased.

Please note that only alcohol, which has been purchased from the cabin crew, is permitted to be consumed on board. Product range may differ between flights, depending on flight length and time of departure.

For flights operated by Jetstar Asia (3K) or Valuair (VF), unless you have special medical or dietary needs, please note that only food and drinks purchased from the cabin crew can be consumed onboard flights.

Entertainment

International services operated by A330 aircraft

After take off, each StarClass passenger will be offered a Video on Demand Unit and headsets. Each unit is programmed with a range of movies, TV programs, music videos and children's programs. StarClass passengers can also plug headsets into their seat to enjoy a range of audio programs.

For Economy class passengers, there will be a limited quantity of Video on Demand units available for hire. Passengers can reserve and pay for a unit at the time they make their booking or once on board. Passengers will be asked to provide identification to hire a Video on Demand unit.

In the Economy cabin, there will also be several screens along the aisles which will show films and TV programs. Passengers can purchase a set of reusable headsets once on board to tune into these programs or the range of audio programs which will also be available.

Children's activity kits will be available for purchase in the StarClass and Economy class cabins.

Domestic services and flights to and from New Zealand

On selected Jetstar services, you can now watch movies, TV shows, cartoons, music videos or listen to the latest music. Simply rent one of our portable Video on Demand units from the cabin crew during your flight. Jetstar is proud to offer this Australian first in in-flight entertainment! Passengers will be asked to provide identification to hire a Video on Demand unit.

Jetstar's inflight audio entertainment, available on all services, offers passengers a choice of 8 programs which will entertain you during your journey. New age, re-usable headsets are available for purchase on board. Jetstar also offers an inflight magazine which will keep you entertained while providing great travel tips.

Amenities

StarClass passengers will have a comfort pack available on their flights. The kit includes a blanket and pillow, plus an amenity kit containing eye shades, a tooth brush and toothpaste. Comfort packs will be available for purchase in the economy class cabin.
