Ferntree Rainforest Lodge is located on a 28-acre property in the middle of the Daintree Rainforest - the oldest Rainforest in the World - meeting the Great Barrier Reef right in front of our doorsteps. The only place, where two World Heritage Sites meet. Our off-grid resort, located in the heart of our small community town of Cape Tribulation is completely self-sustainable and features an onsite Bar & Restaurant, a big pool and lush rainforest gardens that invite for a walk to explore our local flora and fauna. Besides that, our small and lovely team of allrounders is on site for you to make the most out of your stay! Some things to consider - BEFORE YOU VISIT:We are in paradise up here - but we are not a 5-star luxury resort on a tropical island. We are an adventure destination for the ones who enjoy getting out of their comfort zone to explore nature and the uniqueness of our area. Our resort, our team and our little community town, with all its lovely locals, offer a lot of unique experiences and facilities - and be sure - everyone here will make your stay unforgettable and something extraordinary! We operate with a small team of all-rounders, run our own water, power, gas and sewage system.
Our little team is with all hands-on deck to take care of our resort and the daily operation of housekeeping, restaurant, and guest services. Sometimes we are not visible in the deepness of the jungle and are definitely not on the computer all day. WE ARE ALWAYS HERE FOR YOU and all of us live on-site - we are just a phone call away.Being situated in a REMOTE Australia and in a rainforest-environment also means, a lot of things run a bit different. <Services and facilities up here, including supplies, staff, tours or road access are not always available. The next bigger supermarket is 1.5 hours’ drive away. Phone coverage is only available for the last two years here - and only in parts. The roads are windy. The weather can change everything within hours. You need to cross a river. That’s for you as a visitor, for us as locals and for all our staff and suppliers, as well as all workers up here.Up here everything is SUBJECT TO MOTHER NATURE.Visiting, staying and living in a Rainforest also means, to be aware of and live with THE FLORA AND THE FAUNA that surround us - and that includes ALL big, small, tiny and invisible animals, plants, trees, bugs and critters that surround us. We have crocodiles in the ocean, pythons on the roads, kangaroos in trees, spiders that build trapdoors, screaming bats, flying possums, the deadliest bird in the world, plants that sting, ants and roaches, fungi that glow in the dark and so many more critters - even scientist haven’t discovered it all yet. That makes it so exciting but is definitely not for everyone. You can’t wait to come up to stay with us? Please make sure you and your fellow travellers are aware of the extraordinary environment you are visiting, plan your travel accordingly and don't lose your excitement - it is worth making the journey!
Please let us know if you have doubts, so we can clear your thoughts and answer your questions. We will reach out to you again, closer to your arrival date to supply you with all information about tour options and your stay with us here. If you have any questions or need help, the easiest way to get hold of us is via email – and we will come back to you asap – it might take a day or two.
