Eco-retreat provides secluded self-contained accommodation, tipees and campground, near Huonville, southern Tasmania. You are guaranteed to see our Pademelons and Wallabies grazing on the lawns. A true retreat, the property is a private hideaway nestled in the Huon Valley. Privacy and tranquillity is protected by 4km of winding gravel road. There is lots of wildlife so please drive slowly.Each cabin, tepee and campsite is separate and private in its own unique bush setting and all cabins are free from TV and other electrical appliances. 12 volt solar electric runs the lights and CD player. There is no grid electricity in the accommodation units but you can charge your phone or camera in the cabins (larger devices at reception)Studio cabins can accommodate up to 4 guests and are open-plan with a covered deck and an outdoor bath. Two bedroom cabins can accommodate up to 8 guests and also have large decks and outdoor baths.The tepees are ideal for couples, constructed with timber and canvas on the edge of natural bush land with a cozy wood heater bed linen and towels. Nearby amenities for tepees and campsites include hot showers, an outdoor bath and a well-equipped camp kitchen including an open fire.The five kilometer network of walking tracks takes you to majestic towering old-growth forests, velvety moss-clad rainforest streams and stunning panorama of radiant wattle blossom in spring.Breakfast hampers and gourmet dinner platters are usually available by 48 hour prior order.Just 50 minutes drive south of Hobart.

We live up to our name of a bush retreat. Your privacy and peace is protected by three kilometres of gravel public road, which is narrow and winding in places. There is also a further one kilometre of private gravel road inside the extensive private nature reserve. To maximise safety for yourselves and the wildlife, please drive slowly, especially at night and on tight bends.
There is one steep hill that can be a little difficult for a few types of vehicle in very dry, dusty conditions. Some city based drivers may not be used to driving on this type of road. We provide a guide booklet at the bottom of the hill to explain how to safely negotiate the road.
