    The beautiful Gatsby Cottage was previously known as Silky Oak. She gets her new name from the 1925 novel The Great Gatsby. It was written by American author F. Scott Fitzgerald that follows a cast of characters living in the fictional towns of West Egg and East Egg on prosperous Long Island in the summer of 1922. The story primarily concerns the young and mysterious millionaire Jay Gatsby and his quixotic passion and obsession with the beautiful former debutante Daisy Buchanan. Considered to be Fitzgerald’s magnum opus, The Great Gatsby explores themes of decadence, idealism, change, and social excess, creating a portrait of the Roaring Twenties.

    Our gorgeous Charleston Cottage has been named for the famed harbour city of Charleston in South Carolina. Charleston in the roaring 20’s was the birthplace of the dance of the same name, which was often banned for being too risque and too sexual for its time. The rhythm was popularized in mainstream dance music in the United States and by 1923 a tune called ‘The Charleston’ was popularized on Broadway and became and enduring symbol of the decade.
    Our Charleston Cottage is the perfect place to enjoy a port and some chocolate by a roaring fire, or to snuggle up and watch an old movie, or perhaps just soak in the stunning views from the privacy or your private spa bath.     Ponti Cottage

    Ponti is named after Carlo Ponti, the filmmaker who made Sophia Loren a star and his wife in the 1940's. Ponti is renowned for luxurious Italian style and we have brought that to our Misty View Ponti Cottage for you to enjoy.
    Ponti was purposefully built amongst the trees with over 1000m2 of revegetated land providing a private hideaway. The cottage is all on one level with its own private heated swim spa, a large freestanding luxury bath and couples shower with full glass window overlooking the rainforest. For your convenience we have included a well appointed kitchen, coffee machine and BBQ on the deck.
    We have curated Ponti to provide you with a beautiful, luxurious and comfortable environment so you feel like you are in your own world. Decorated with artworks from the Sunshine Coast’s local artists and we bring nature indoors with a selection of luscious plants. Ponti’s sleek stylish deco lines are complemented by the warmth and colour of European rugs.

    Whilst we understand unexpected things may happen, to avoid any unforeseen circumstances we highly recommend travel insurance. Any cancellations in excess of 21 days prior to your booking will incur a $50 fee. Cancellations within 21 days of your booking will render your deposit non-refundable. We appreciate your understanding in this matter.
    Cleaning: Should the cottage not be left neat and tidy with the dishes in the dishwasher a minimum cleaning of $100 will be charged.
    Check out: Should you leave later than the stated check out time you will be charged $50/ half hour.
    Smoking: Is not permitted in the cottage, deck only. Should you smoke in the cottage you will be charged $550 cleaning fee.
    Damage: You will be charged accordingly to any damages to property.

    Bed types are request only and may not be honoured at the hotel if availability does not permit.
